About

Skillvlora helps you choose an online learning platform and work out what it will really cost.

We compare platforms such as Coursera, Udemy, edX, DataCamp and Khan Academy side by side, with prices you can check and a scoring method you can read.

Why we built Skillvlora?

Choosing where to learn online should not take a weekend of open tabs. Prices change often, “free” sometimes means the certificate costs extra, and a subscription only pays off if you finish enough courses. Many comparison pages skip those details, or show a price with no date next to it.

We built Skillvlora in 2022 to fix that. Every number on this site comes with a check date, and every ranking comes from a formula you can inspect.

What you can do here?

  • Platform Picker: answer five quick questions and get a ranked top three, with the reasons each platform matched.
  • Comparison table: filter by topic, certificate type and pricing model, and sort by price.
  • Cost calculator: find out whether a subscription or pay-per-course is cheaper for the number of courses you will actually finish.
  • Research: original price data, certificate breakdowns and break-even math, updated monthly.

All of it is free and needs no account.

How we keep the data honest?

  • Collected by hand. We read each platform’s own pricing and certificate pages and enter the details ourselves. We do not scrape.
  • Dated and re-checked. Every record shows when we last checked it, and we re-check the whole database every month.
  • Published scoring. The picker’s points and the calculator’s formulas are explained in full on How we rate.
  • Open to corrections. If you spot a price that has changed, tell us and we will verify it and fix it.

How the site is funded?

Skillvlora does not currently earn money from the platforms we list, and no platform can pay to change its score or position. If that ever changes, for example through affiliate links, we will say so clearly on the pages it affects, and the scoring will stay the same.

Who we write for?

Skillvlora is run from India and written for learners worldwide, with a focus on readers in the United States. We list prices in US dollars. Many platforms charge different amounts by country, so please confirm the final price on the platform before you pay.

What we will not do?

  • Show fake countdown timers or invented discounts.
  • Rank a platform higher because of a commercial relationship.
  • Claim we have tested a course when we have not. When we review something, we say how we tested it.
